Esad Ribić was born in 1972. He finished School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb, department of graphic design. In nineties he started as comics and illustration author, collaborating with Plavi zabavnik magazine and with german publisher Bastei on horror comic called Gespenster. He also worked in Zagreb film on animated films such as The Little Flying Bears, Lapitch the Little Shoemaker and Ad Astra. In Croatia he made 14 illustrated book covers for Algoritam publishing house: series of Miles Vorkosigan by Lois McMaster Bujold, and three covers for books of George R. R. Martin. In 1996 he begins to collaborate with american publisher Antarctic Press from Teksas, for whom her worked for several years. By the recommendation of his friend Edvin Biuković he begins to work for Marvel, and later with DC/Vertigo. He still works for them and is very successful. Esad lives and works in Zaprešić.
